Respected teachers and fellow students，

I’m Yu Siyuan from Class 3. It is an honor for me to stand here to make the speech, today, my topic is “A Day to Remember.”

That is a day to remember: July 13^th, 2001. After 15 years’ persistent efforts, China has won the right to host the Olympics at last. That day signifies that our national power has become strong enough to face the world; it signifies that China is already heading for the world; it signifies that the Chinese people are forging ahead in the world with head held high.

We all feel very excited. We have committed to making the 2008 Olympics green, humane and scientific. We have put forward the slogan “One World, One Dream”. We are determined to make the games a stunning success.

But, as a Chinese student, what can we do for the Olympic Games? What can we do to contribute to the success?

We can do a lot of things. First of all, we can plant more trees and make the city of Beijing clean and tidy. We must learn all the good manners and show to the world that China’s is a country with great ancient civilization. We may serve as volunteers and do all the things that the games need. We can help our foreign friends in every way, showing them around the city, telling them stories about China and so on. In a word, we can do whatever we can to help the games realize its slogan “One World, One Dream.”

Olympics, pride of China

Ladies and gentlemen,

I’m Melanie in Class 4. It’s really my glad to share the exciting time with you. My speech’s topic is that ---Olympics, pride of China.

Time flies, there are only 1000 days left before the 2008 Olympic Games,

As a Chinese, it’s a great honor for us to win the bid for the 29^th Olympic

Games. China began to think about hosting the Olympic Games as early as

1908, but it is a pity that we lost the competition in 2001 for the host of it. Then

with the full support of the people of China and the Beijing government, we finally succeeded.

We all know that the aim of the game is to bring a better understanding and

friendship between the nations of the world, so the most important thing in the game is not to win but to participate.

As a student, we must be well prepared for the history-making event. Although there is little thing that we can do to make a big difference to it, we can at least study hard to try to get a good knowledge of English and work as a volunteer in2008. To make it into a “Green Olympics, Hi-tech Olympics, and People’s Olympics,” I’m sure that the Olympics will bring pride to the host city, as well as the host country---China!
